Hamilton Ross Group have announced that it will be bringing all of its operations together under a single company structure from 1 March 2026 - which they say marks an important milestone in the continued development of their business.

The merger will see R&R Machinery, trading name of Daniel Ross (Engineers) Ltd, transfer its business into Hamilton Brothers, which will then be renamed and operate as Hamilton Ross Group Ltd.

There are currently four depots trading under the Hamilton Brothers name in Bishopton, Tarbolton, Campbeltown and Perth and two depots trading under the R&R Machinery name in Lanark and Cupar and from 1 March, all depots will operate under the unified Hamilton Ross Group name, creating a clearer and more streamlined identity across the organisation.

In an announcement the company said, "This strategic step is designed to simplify the business structure and strengthen the group’s platform for future growth, while delivering a more consistent and joined-up experience for customers across all locations."

The statement continued saying, all existing staff will remain in place, with ongoing focus on developing people, facilities and technical capability as the business expands. They also confirmed that the unified structure will  enable the group to deliver " . .enhanced product coverage and aftersales support across its full network of depots." Customers will have access to leading AGCO brands throughout the group, including Massey Ferguson and Valtra at all locations, with Fendt available from the Perth and Cupar depots.

Today, Hamilton Ross Group employs more than 150 people, including more than 60 trained engineers supported by more than 90 support vehicles on the road. Operating from its six depots across Scotland and holding in excess of £3 million in spare parts stock, the group provides support to customers across the agricultural, groundcare and construction industries.

As a family-run business in its 93rd year of trading, with directors, Eric Gardiner, his son, Jamie and Jim Steel at the helm, Hamilton Ross Group continues to build on a long-standing reputation for reliability, service and customer commitment. This unification, they say, represents a natural progression in the company’s journey and reinforces its ambition to invest in the future while maintaining the personal relationships and local expertise that customers value.

Commenting on the announcement, group operations director, Jamie Gardiner, said, “This marks an important milestone for our business and one we have been working towards for a number of years.

“Bringing our operations together under a single name allows us to simplify how we work, strengthen the support we provide to customers and invest more effectively in our people and infrastructure.

“As a family business with over 90 years’ experience, our focus remains unchanged: delivering the best sales, parts and service support to the industries and communities we are proud to serve. We are also incredibly grateful for the loyalty our customers have shown us over the years.

“I would like to thank our teams across all locations for their continued dedication and professionalism. Their commitment is what makes progress like this possible.”
