Dealers Ireland’s Farm Machinery Ltd of Carrington, Boston have alerted their customers this week (September 18th 2025) that they are relinquishing the Kubota franchise.
They have also confirmed that as a consequence they shall be closing their Market Rasen depot on December 1st this year.
In a letter to customers, which is also published on their website, owner Jonathan Ireland says that the decision was a difficult one for the dealership. He explains, "We have decided after many discussions with Kubota over the past months that we do not want to be Kubota dealers anymore. As you will appreciate, this was not an easy decision for us to take but, ultimately, there are still no 6-cylinder Kubota tractors on the market. The prospect of having them was something which weighed heavily in our decision making when we took on the dealership in 2014. Kubota seems not to want to enter that part of the market and, accordingly, we have tendered our notice and will no longer be their dealer after February 2026."
Jonathan continued, "We acknowledge that the Kubota products and the people we deal with on a daily basis are first class and we will work with them to ensure all outstanding orders are supplied in the normal manner."
He went on to explain that current Kubota customers will continue to be ". . looked after accordingly for warranty, parts and service."
In terms of the Market Rasen branch closure, Jonathan says, "Laura and her team have done a great job there for the past 9 years and it is no reflection on their hard work and dedication, simply a matter of adjusting our business. Customers in the Market Rasen area will still obviously be able to deal with our Carrington or Sutterton depots for wholegoods, parts and service."
Jonathan concluded his message to customers, saying, "We are a successful well-run family business and have always run it to do the best job we can for our staff and customers. We pride ourselves on the flexibility of our business, and all other existing franchises we hold will remain. We shall also be investing further in our successful hire business and are very excited about the new Energreen franchise which will take us into different markets, with other new franchises coming on board soon."
Service Dealer contacted Kubota for comment with Henry Bredin, division manager - UK & Ireland Agriculture & Groundcare, telling us, "Our first priorities will be to ensure existing Kubota customers are looked after and that they can get service and aftersales support in a way that meets their individual needs. Following discussions with Jonthan and Fiona Ireland over the past few months, we have, and continue to work towards finding a successive dealer for the area."
