DEALERS F G ADAMSON SUFFER BREAK-IN

On Wednesday this week East Riding dealership, F G Adamson & Son fell victim to burglars who broke into their store - following on from other similar incidents in the area.

Owner Michael Adamson contacted Service Dealer to tell us about the incident in the hope of raising both awareness and vigilance amongst the network.

Michael described break-in, saying "They damaged our security gate but didn’t manage to get through it. However, they were able to cut through the lock on our front door and then cut through our shutters, enabling them to get into the store."

In terms of machines targeted by the criminals, taken were STIHL and Husqvarna chainsaws and hedgetrimmers; STIHL, Husqvarna and Echo blowers; and STIHL bruschcutters.

Michael says he's been told a dealership just over an hour away from him, Charles H Hill at Woodall Spa, was broken into in the same manner last week.

"The approximate cost of the machinery stolen is £10,000," said Michael. "However, this doesn't take into account the cost of the damage inflicted."
