BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

PSD Groundscare are a National Distributor of Professional Groundscare Machinery for market leading brands Eliet, Canycon, EcoTech, GRIN, Koeppl and Sabo, and operate through an extensive network of specialist dealers covering the UK and NI. This is an exciting time of expansion for the company, and we are therefore looking to recruit for the following position:

Business Development Manager (BDM) – Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland

The BDM is required to provide on-going company representation and ensuring that dealer, key account and rental company sales objectives are achieved. 

Primary focus will be on supporting existing dealers and expanding the dealer & hire shop network that will stock and promote the PSD product range of both consumer and commercial machinery. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The BDM is responsible for:

  • Continued Customer Development, within the area, for our portfolio of products via independent dealers, hire companies and appropriate key accounts.  
  • Recruit, and train new dealer and hire partners.
  • Demonstrate equipment to both our partners and their professional customers.
  • Develop annual business plans with dealers & that meet sales goals and objectives.
  • Achieve sales objectives for all categories within the product portfolio.  
  • Completing all documentation accurately and according to company requirements. 
  • Complete monthly reports, data base maintenance and monthly expense sheets as required.
  • Utilise CRM tools to log & report, sales opportunities, market data, including competitor activity, buyer behavior, market trends and key industry contacts.
  • Attend meetings & training sessions locally and internationally as required.
  • Ensuring sales activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Other duties that may be required at the direction of the Sales Director.

JOB DIMENSIONS include:

  • Sales goals and customer development will be key drivers of success. 
  • An organised, pro-active, results driven person with a strong bias toward sales execution & customer service.
  • Ability to demonstrate the PSD range of products to potential customers.
  • Regular travel is required.
  • Flexibility with regards to working hours is important.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to function with minimum supervision. 

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Proven sales skills in a Commercial Groundscare Environment. Relevant experience in equipment sales, and knowledge of the U.K. Groundscare and / hire equipment market a distinct advantage.
  • Possess a reasonable mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to establish effective business relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Comfortable engaging all organizational levels in the selling process.
  • Strong organisational, planning, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Sound PC and ‘Microsoft Office’ literacy
  • Experience with CRM tools an advantage.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Accepts a flexible work environment and has ability to respond to changing priorities.
  • Full clean driving license covering categories B&E
