speakers carolineCaroline Drummond MBE

Caroline has been running LEAF, the farming and environmental charity since it started in 1991. She graduated in Agriculture and has broad practical agricultural experience from across the globe. Her work focuses on encouraging more sustainable farming practices and building a better public trust and understanding of farming, food and the environment – values that she is personally extremely passionate about. She is actively involved in many industry partnerships and initiatives. In 2009 Caroline was awarded the MBE, she has an Honorary Doctorate from Harper Adams University, a Nuffield Scholarship and was awarded Honorary Fellowship for the Society of the Environment. Caroline is actively involved with the British Nutrition Foundation, North Wyke, the Agri-tech initiative - The Centre for Applied Crop Science, the IAgrM, and the Science Museum.

Jim Wade started as Principal of JCB Academy in January 2009, 20 months before the school opened for its first cohort of students. Jim has been a Principal for over sixteen years and before joining teaching, worked for Citibank at their UK head office in London. He has always been involved in technical and vocational education and started his teaching career with involvement in the Certificate of Pre-Vocational Education back in the mid-1980s and was Deputy at Somerset’s first technology college. He is passionate about the role technical education plays in developing life chances for young people and currently sits on The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Education and Skills Policy Panel, as well as the UTC Principals’ steering group. Jim will be discussing recruitment and its associated challenges.

David Frieberg has helped bring leading technologies to consumer-focused businesses for more than 20 years. He oversees global marketing programs across all of Planalytics’ business segments. Prior to joining Planalytics, David held marketing roles at Retek (now part of Oracle), which focused on solutions and services for the retail industry. He started his professional career at Comshare, a software company that helped companies in retail, consumer goods and a variety of other industries with financial analysis and reporting, performance measurement and planning. David earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.

Cedric Porter is a journalist and agricultural supply consultant. He provides international market advice to a range of clients, including machinery manufacturers. He is the co-editor of World Potato Markets and in 2016 launched Brexit Food and Farming, a monthly analysis of Brexit developments. He is a regular speaker at conferences in the UK and abroad and in the last year has spoken in the US, Canada, Panama and a to a number of European audiences. Cedric is a trustee of LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) and a Governor at Hadlow College in Kent. Cedric will be addressing the Conference on the issue of Brexit.

Julio Romo Julio Romo is an MCIPR Communications Consultant, Digital and Innovation Strategist with over 18 years experience. He has worked agency-side as an independent consultant in multiple international markets, including Middle East, Asia and Europe. Former clients include The Council of Europe in Strasbourg and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna. Julio was a former Council and Board member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Edward Reisner is a Mobility Partner & Digital Transformation Advisor for Jigsaw24. He has spent the last 6 years working with organisations that want to drive innovation through emerging technologies, Apple & integrated solutions. He has taken key leadership roles in product management, marketing, system design, data management and business development – supporting large scale mobile device deployments. Edward has a BA in Music from The University of Nottingham and is also a session musician.

MD of Maple Associates is a leading dealer development expert who has 15 years’ experience supporting dealer teams selling Massey Ferguson, JCB, New Holland, Valtra, Kubota and Challenger brands in addition to a wider equipment portfolio of products in agriculture, arboriculture and groundcare.

Author of 'The Dealer Leadership Development Programme', he has worked with owners and teams of distributors and dealers to identify and deliver significant measurable improvements on profitability, cash flow and balance sheet performance. Using a whole business approach to improvement, Simon is a strong advocate of active prospecting, consultative selling and a customer-focused sales strategy.

Simon’s presentation and words of advice will be fascinating and highly relative –definitely a ‘not to be missed’ session.
